Documentary Credit List

John has over 20 years experience as a cinematographer, having been based in Australia, USA and the UK over that time. He has shot documentaries for major networks in all those regions

Documentary films screened recently include the cinema release of “I’m Not Dead yet” (also airing on ABC TV) and Wide Open Road, a 3-episode series on ABC TV about the history of the car in Australia (Bombora Films).

Screening internationally on Discovery Network, John was DOP on the Australian shoot for How the Universe Works for prestigious science documentary producers Pioneer Productions (UK).

In 2010 he was the sole recipient of that year’s highest national award for documentary cinematography, an ACS “Golden Tripod” award. This acknowledged his cinematography on the natural history film Feral Peril (ABC TV).

Whilst living in New York, John shot a US/UK co-production A Tale of Two Towers about September 11, which aired around the globe and received a BAFTA nomination.
