FEATURE FILM PRIMAL COMPLETED
John’s 5th feature film as DOP, Primal has been completed and international sales are underway.
John Biggins has 20 years experience as a cinematographer, including five feature films, and has been based in Australia, USA and the UK over that time. He has worked extensively in drama, documentary and TVC production, and has a specialisation in high definition cinematography.
John has recently completed the feature film Primal, due for cinema release early next year.
His previous feature film Black Water was released internationally in ‘08 and received a silver ACS award that year.
The film opened in UK cinemas to strong reviews:
"...the film fashions a few hair raising shocks, through convincing performances and versatile, creative camera work by cinematographer John Biggins, who builds an intense atmosphere through a combination of static
close-ups, long tracking shots and dynamic, handheld point-of-view shots - all of which ably convey the characters' mounting hysteria.
"British Film Institute's "Sight and Sound" magazine, Feb. '08.
"John Biggins' atmospheric photography puts you right in the unfriendly swamp, its gnarled ancient trees almost as menacing as the still, soupy waters in which the monster lurks.
"The Independent (UK), Feb. 22 ‘08
"...the cinematography by John Biggins is masterful. Gorgeous wide shots of the northern territory lend the film a scope greater than its budget would normally allow.
"Inside Film magazine (Aust) April ‘08
